PZW Awards 2012105 PZW Awards 2012106

The evening started of with a few drinks in the bar before moving into the restaurant area where a gorgeous buffet was laid out, with every thing from salads to fish and very tasty pizza slices was laid out.

With WPC Damian Ayling selling winning raffle tickets to Sandy Gourley and a few non winning tickets to everyone else, he managed to raise roughly £150 for the Prostate Cancer Charity.

I must point out that I did very well, walking away with some fine padded Mavic wheel bags which will protect my new Carbone SL's very nicely, so a big thank you must go out to all the local bike shops who once again donated goodies for the raffle, cheers guys.

A full list of who won what can be found further down the page, along with the if there was an award, what award would be given to award the award.....

Below is a small gallery of the night, big thanks to Dale Reardon for taking the pictures.

The Annual PZ Wheelers 2011 awards night - held Saturday 28th Jan 2012

First off, a new venue was chosen for this years annual awards evening, The Atlantic Hotel in Carbis Bay. I know I know its a shameless link, but the service and buffet provided was first class. So a huge thank you to them and a big hoorah to Lloyd "Mr Euro" Peters for arranging and booking the venue. Top Stuff....

The awards night is an annual get together for the club to award the riders who have done well in their chosen discipline, whether it by Time Trialing or Road Racing. And the past year had been an exceptional year for the club, from results in the Cornish TT Cup, Criterium racing and the introduction of the slower paced social group ride led by Dave Henderson.

As with last year, his royal lordship, Lord Garwell of the Angarrackshire was the host for the evening with his usual witty speech setting the tone for the evening. Only this year we had the added bonus of newly retired Rapha Condor Sharp pro-rider Tom Southam presenting the awards and recieving honoury lifetime membership to the club, the fact his dad, Matt Southam is Chairman is pure coincidence and a complete impartial decision was made......
